Going to be some great matchups tomorrow and looking forward to see who advances. I would say if Lyman, Bishop Moore, SW or Wellington loose, those would be considered upsets. The rest can go either way depending on who shows up to play. My picks to win for the remainder are Ransom, St Thomas, Boca Raton and Mourning. Good luck to all.

Just looked at Ransoms and Miami schedules and I would also say Ransom loosing would be an upset as well.

The best match up tonight will be Bishop Moore AT Berkeley Prep. If BP wins it would be an upset, but they are close enough to BM to take it to 5 sets and then anything can happen - especially with a home crowd. I'd agree with the other big favorites mentioned above (Lyman, SW, Wellington and Ransom).
It's amazing that one of these four teams will make it to the semi-finals (Boca Raton, Taravella, McArthur, Mourning). Knowing that better teams lost in District finals and someone will lose tonight in some good match ups (BP v BM, Lyman v Winter Park, SW v Killian, STA v AMHS and even Wellington v. Royal Palm Beach.
FHSAA would not consider it knowing the extra travel cost involved as well as the potential politics, but it would be nice to set up a seeding process after Districts for the sweet sixteen. Having the best teams at States and then into the Semi's would make for a better tournament.

If you loose, your out. Don't complain about other teams easier schedule because it doesn't matter, you lost and weren't going to be state champs no matter if you lost last week or this week. One team will be left standing on Saturday and will be crowned state champ The district games are all important and the powers change from year to year. This is what makes it exciting, not having teams picked by someone who thinks one team is better. You win you advance. With the exception of one or two teams every year, there is a top ten group that are competive and depending on who plays well, any of them could win on any given night and show it during the season. Good luck to the rest of the teams standing after tonight.

St thomas beat archbishop in 3. 25-18 25-20 25-16. Probably play wellington in a rematch of a real close match at the jungle queen.

Wow - what happened at Southwest Miami last night? Did SW not show up or has Killian improved that much throughout the season?
Congrats to Berkeley Prep for a nice win as well. Favorites won in the other matches.
Prior to last night, 3 schools were going for a state record 3rd State Title this year. And all three of them were arguably the top three schools in the state this year. Now that Southwest and Bishop Moore have lost, only Lyman can become the school with a 3rd title.
Also, with Lyman's 57th consecutive win last night (over the past two years), I heard this is a new state record. Can any one confirm this?
Let's here your predictions for Friday and Saturday at Pine Crest?
Here's what I'm projecting,
> Lyman over Killian in the first match
> Mourning over Taravella for the second semifinalist
> Berkeley Prep to edge out Ransom in the best match up on Friday
> St. Thomas Aquinas in an upset over Wellington to end their undefeated season

My predictions are
Wellington over St. Thomas Aquinas Ransom Everglades vs Berkeley Prep Mourning over Boca Raton Lyman over Miami Killian
Wellington over Ranson Everglades Lyman over Boca Raton
And in a Match of Undefeated Teams
Lyman 59-0 over Wellington 31-0

berkeley vs ransom should be good. no way will wellington advance to the finals having to get through the winner of that match. they will even have their hands full with sta
killian makes for an interesting story but lyman should have an easy way to finals. congrats to mourning and boca for getting this far but its a shame the two weakest teams at states match up against each other first round and one of them will get to the final four, hence lyman having an easy road to finals
good luck to all

disagree with Mourning being one of weakest teams. The STA/Wellington match is the weakest of them all...those teams didn't play much out of their county, even though Wellington is undefeated.
Mourning has seen better competition than both those teams and would beat either one. Hopefully they will prove people wrong with strong play up there, since they are no longer newcomers to the tourney.
Agree with toss-up match between RE/BP.
I'm very curious about Lyman and Killian. Def think Lyman should win, but if Killian keeps it close enough and Lyman has a so-so match, I wouldn't be surprised if Killian win...like when they beat SW.
Wellington/STA match should have best crowd...pretty much near their schools. Winner will lose in semifinal.

Since we have some disagreement on who's the weakest team or match up left of the eight, let's provide our individual rankings of those remaining teams:
Here's mine: 1. Lyman 2. Berkeley Prep 3. Wellington 4. Ransom 5. Killian 6. St. Thomas Aquinas 7. Mourning 8. Boca Raton
