not sure royal palm will get by wellington this year. park vista is much improved so that region will come down to the wire. wellington has a lot of key returning players and with the experience from the loss at states against st Thomas I think they might surprise some people.

Dr Phil and Lyman were the class of the DP tourney after the first couple of matches tonight. Gibbons and Timber Creek have the other top seeds. Lyman will play Ransom in the morning, Lyman should win in 2 - give up around 19 - 21 per set. TC will have their hands full with Wellington. TC had a couple of tight sets vs Spanish River before pulling away late. Not sure how they got the #1 overall seed here. They lost to Apopka in a pre-season match.
Gibbons will have a challenging match vs Olympia in the morning. Cory is 90% of the team. Archbishop Mac was in a tight match vs Lake Nona when I left. DP should handle AMC fairly easily tomorrow.
If all top seeds advance, Lyman will play TC in the semi's and DP vs Gibbons. I'll take Lyman and DP in the finals, although TC and Gibbons may not make it to Gold.
In the finals I'll take Zach, Kenny and Bronson (Lyman) over Logan and Kevin (DP).
Apopka, Bishop Moore and Winter Park are the other top teams in Central Fla. - although WP was very sloppy in pre-season. BM beat Apopka 3-2 at home for each team's opener. Tampa Berk lost a lot of players and don't look very good this year. Ransom beat them fairly easily tonight.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow and for the rest of the season.

Timber Creek did not really get the #1 seed. Wellington did not want to play the 5 pm match because of their long drive so they were moved to the 2nd seed, in that pool, so they wouldn't have to play until 6.

It does not matter who was seeded where. You have to beat the best to be the best. If this tourney was in April we would have a better idea of who has done what this year. The brackets look like the top 2 teams won all there matches except one upset. Lyman is the best team but in pool d etc. They would be in pool a if this was in April. Lets just enjoy the tourney exciting day today.

Well your Pool Play winners.
Timber Creek Dp Olympia Ransom Everglades
Gold Semis Timber Creek over Ransom Dp over Olympia
Gold Final Dp over Timber Creek
Dp has to many hitters but Olympia and TC put up a huge fight. Ransom out of now where handles Lyman pretty easily.
Lyman wins Silver

Interesting results in the Dr. Phillips tourney, especially the Lyman loss to Ransom!
Does anyone know where all the tournament match results are listed? Also, is there anywhere all or most of the Florida high school match results are listed. This site used to post most of the scores and keep them updated, but doesn't seem to anymore. Even most of the local newspapers for the areas that have boys high school do not seem to do a very good job.

Orlando Sentinel had all of the Central Florida team's scores listed from the DP tourney in their daily scores from Friday and Saturday.
My understanding is the scores are called in by the coaches - if you don't see your teams scores, talk to your coach.
You can get weekly scores from FHSAA. go to "http://www.fhsaa.org/sports/volleyball-boys" then select 'Weekly Scores' in the Results box on the top right of the page. You can get many of the scores from across the state.

Since Dave’s Ranking System doesn't appear to be working and we’re in the last week of regular season district games, let’s share our thoughts on who is in your top 10?
Here’s my list: 1. Dr. Phillips - No doubt! With two tourney wins, regular season win over Apopka and over all 6 victories over top 10 teams, they are deserving of the top spot. Two great match ups in the next couple of days may determine if they go into the playoffs undefeated – at home vs. Bishop Moore tomorrow and at Lyman on Thursday. 2. The rest of the top 6 gets very blurry!! Any of these teams are good enough to beat DP, but haven’t had the consistency. a. Southwest - Won 2 of 3 vs. BM two of the games in BM home tourney. Split with Palmetto and wins over Mourning and Killian b. Lyman – Fluke loss to Ransom and loss to BM at home. Best wins over Apopka in Pre-season and Lake Mary. As much talent as any team in the state, but not sure if they have all of parts and chemistry. c. Mourning – Pushed DP to 17-15 in 3rd set. Enough said!! Okay, maybe you could add - also lost to SW in 5. d. Bishop Moore – wins over Apopka, Southwest Olympia and Lyman, but loss to Wellington. I’m guessing another 3 set fluke. e. Timber Creek – Only 2 losses are to DP in finals of the 2 best tourneys this year. Only reason they aren’t #2 by themselves is their best wins are against Wellington, Ransom, Olympia and Lake Nona. Win play Freedom tonight, Winter Park Thursday and then Lyman & BM next week. We’ll know more about them after those games.
7. Apopka – Best Setter/RS in the state (and perhaps best overall), hasn’t been enough to get them over hump vs. top 5 teams. Their OH1 and other hitters will have to step up big to crack the ceiling. 8. Palmetto – Wins over BM. Losses to Mourning, Olympia & DP and split with SW. 9. Ransom – Wins over Lyman & Columbus. Losses to Timber Creek & Chaminade-Madonna? Is that correct? 10. Honorable mention – Cardinal Gibbons, Lake Mary, Olympia, Killian, Freedom, Archbishop McCarthy & Wellington.
Here’s some great match ups to look for this week. Lyman @ Olympia Dr. Phil @ Bishop Moore * Timber Creek @ Freedom * Lake Mary @ Seminole * Pine Crest @ Cardinal Gibbons * Timber Creek @ Winter Park * Dr. Phil @ Lyman Lake Worth @ Wellington * Southwest @ Sunset * * May determine what seed team gets going into District tournaments.
Best of luck to all – please share your top 10 and the results of good matches as we get closer to districts.

Timber Creek beat Southwest in the semifinal of the Smoothie King Invitational. That's another quality win.
