Here is how it should look right now, this is not intended to put any player down, I will say who are locks for 1st team and then players on the bubble and what argument can be said to put them there..
1st team Locks
Setter-Danny(Killian)
OH-Kyle(Palmetto)
RS-Dennis(SW)
M-Danny(Palmetto)
OH-Victor (Columbus)
Danny from Killian, no one gave him credit or Killian for that matter, they have a winning record and made it to District finals, he is the game changer on that team he is the leader and makes players around him better, they beat varela once in the regular season and beat them to get to the finals.
Kyle from Palmetto, he is the smartest hitter in Dade-County by far and plays all the way around does not get subbed in like most players(Braddock), hes a complete package he can pass, play defense, his the back row ball, and takes control when he has to, he can hit the ball with power but with a hitter that smart he doesn't have to power it through like most.
Dennis from Southwest, he is a leader for that team and he can play it all middle or opposite, he has power and has really good shots from the all over, his back row is not the best but he picks his spot, he has a consistent serve. Dennis is out of all the players for all dade the most versatile player. we don't really have to argue whe he shouldnt be there.
Danny from Palmetto is the best middle in dade county, he has a cannon and can hit the ball, he gets the most respect out of other teams outside the middle, teams have to try and triple block him and he still finds the spot and gets the kill. his serving is very aggressive and his blocking as well is a huge. His serving is one of the best when its on.
Victor from Columbus like Kyle is very smart and brings an all around game to his team. He can serve and his side out game is one of the best, against AMHS he was a huge force defensively and attacking wise...his defense is if not the best of the OH's, his transition defense is great as well..He contacts the ball high which makes up for his height, he is very good at seeing what shots are open and where the block is. Against Palmetto I heard he had trouble with the big blocks but like a great player against AMHS he came out tooling hitting smarter. He is a definite lock for All-dade.
These are bubble players...
Barbosa OH(Braddock) If they can pull a upset then he should be 1st team material, I don't like him as a candidate cause he has to get subbed out sometimes or most of the times. Not the smartest OH but the strongest for sure.
Mirabal Opp (Columbus) Don't get me wrong great player but they run a 6-2 and don't feel he should be up there, I would choose Ralph his teammate over him.
Rick (OH) Coral Park-They didn't have the season they wanted but hes a great player, I don't really see him getting first team, there team never really achieved much this year, 2nd team yes 1st team don't see a valid argument, I like him as a player but not 1st team material, his team underachieved and they even stated that they never got to click.
Greg (OH) FCS-Not gonna make it, sorry they didn't make it to District finals, and there are OHs that are better then him this year, not putting him down but compared to what the others done for him he doesn't get 1st, argument for 2nd yes.
Ralph(OH) Columbus-If they make it to states which I don't see them losing there regional match up then yes 1st team, he is a solid OH for his team and comes up big when needed, him and victor are the work horses on that team. Columbus can easily have three players first team, I choose him over the opposite.
Kory(OH) Palmetto-His brother is Kyle and he has been a huge factor in some of Palmettos victories I saw him play against SW and he came up big for them, Him and Kyle took charge that game, hes not as smart as kyle but he is very young and he can power the ball through. I saw an earlier post and it seems he does put good numbers up there to make a strong argument. If Palmetto can win there district and make it to states then he has an even stronger argument to make it.
Del-torro-Hes from Southwest and I like him alot, he seems to be struggling right now but if he has a strong regional match up he should make 1st team, At Gmacs he never got into a good flow, but hes a great player his jump serve when on is solid and can mess teams up and he hits very hard as well.
I am sorry If I missed anyone...
Columbus, Palmetto, and Southwest have more players on that list for first team and rightfully so, Columbus has not lost to any teams in Dade-County, Palmetto only has 4 losses and only one to Columbus from dade county and Southwest believe it or not only has one loss to a team from dade-county and thats Palmetto, Palmetto and SW are on a collision course to play again in Regional Finals, Should be a great match up this time since the game is best of 5.
This list is as close as it gets in my opinion, the Killian setter proved him self, but all-dade is whack sometimes and is a popularity contest and alot of players have gotten robbed, but thats south florida volleyball, you have to look at the teams record and into account what that player has done to help his team get there, that is why Killian setter deserves to be there, Columbus has great setters but they run that 6-2 so it hurts there chances, Danny has great hands from when I saw them play at a tournament. Seasons coming close and see what those bubble players can do!
