Yes, that was just a ranking of Miami. If it were of South Florida, McCarthy, South Broward, and Spanish River, if you count that as South Florida, would be included amongst the top teams.

McCarthy? Joke, they aren't good. They have no one. They all stink and wont go anywhere for college. They are not in the top of South Florida. AT ALL!!

My thoughts: AMHS: I agree, AMHS should not be listed as a top team. They lost TJ who accounted for most of the teams offense last year. They also lost their setter, libero and one of their middles. Based upon last year, it will be very tough. Unless there are "transfers" this year that I do not know about. RIVER: They should definitely be a top team in South Florida. They did not lose anybody major from last year plus they always seem to get good young players from their JV team DOUGLAS: Douglas only lost one senior, but it was Aaron who accounted for most of their offense last year. I am not sure about this team this year. They could be a surprise. SOUTH BROWARD: They were VERY overrated last year based upon a very easy schedule. There are some good players still there, but I would definitely not include the as a "top team". If they have an easy schedule again they will be "ranked high" on this website, but nothing really.

Dont doubt Amhs. For the past 8 years they have had a strong team. The only reason people hate is because of the talent they have over there. I do NOT go there I am just saying they have a talented group of boys. They always have had someone to fill tue setters shoes. That won't be a problem for them. I agree losing TJ was a big loss to them and will have to make up for it. In the middle position they are SOLID.

Anyone think Seminole Ridge is gonna return to states? Don't really know. Losing David S. (probably the #1 setter in Florida) and David F. (one of the best middles) will really hurt them. They also lost their very good libero. They will have trouble this year.

Last year Chaminade-Madonna made a good run all the way to the state quarters. They lost one senior of note and one player transferred to McCarthy, but are left with a solid athletic group of players -- several of which are playing with various club teams. They should be a team to watch. On a side note, in general Chaminade's volleyball program is impressive. The girls' team -- which is stacked for another three or four years at least -- have also been to states in the last few years and are looking to make a move again this year. www.miamiherald.com/2011/09/28/2428609/chaminade-aiming-to-make-mark.html

BM is clearly the early favorite but my money is on Berkley Prep.
Timber creek? You are nuts!
Cypress Creek is a decent team but they are not ready for prime time. I would need to know how many WP graduated to be able to speak about them. If both CC and WP were healthy and at full strength last year the nod would have clearly gone to WP. WP is still better this year.
I would look for Lyman to do well this year.
Lake Mary should be strong again. Who is going to set without Bhill? Injury concerns. Winter Springs has a strong outside and middle returning.

That's weird because last time they played Cypress Creek beat them in three games at Winter Park... Cypress has 4 returning starters and an additional starter that transferred from Freedom. They also have a very strong outside hitter and setter moving up from JV this year. And who does Winter Park have? A libero and an outside hitter? Cypress Creek was better than Winter Park last year and they are definitely better than them this year.

You are right you were better than WP last year during that night but don't kid yourself. WP was better. You guys were scrubs. Did you even make it to the district finals? I forgot that powerhouse freedom took you out. That's not a knock on freedom but don't try to make your team last year seem like such a stud team. Cypress Creek should be a decent team this year. They will fight for a district championship. After that we will see. Make some noise at the DP tourney and then we can talk again.
