Berkeley beats Columbus in 5 tonight intense match! Lake Mary takes on both Columbus and BP tomorrow should be a great day of volleyball. But I think BP and Columbus r top 2 teams and it should be a dog fight for lake mary.

Once again Columbus can't win when it counts. Every team at that school seems to choke.

i absolutely agree with you. they haven't done anything special. yeah, they've won lots of games, but have also lost a majority of their key/big matches. none of their teams that have gone to state have won in the quarterfinals. they finally won gmac last year, but that is just an extra tourney. until they can prove themselves worthy of being a great team by winning big matches, then they are just above average.

lost to BP in 4 and Columbus in 3. scheduling tough? please what did they schedule? an average tournament in south florida when the talented schools where in orlando. cant believe their coach scheduled this. over the years he hasn't scheduled teams that he thought he would see in regionals. all those years ducking bishop moore and the orange county schools. LM only has to step up one time this year to make states and thats at regionals. seminole county sucks this year so there won't even be a challenge at districts. coach is a joke.

[...Crowder Edit...]
As for newbie... LM can't do much about their district schedule, the PV tournament had decent competition and how many teams are scheduling Columbus and BP? I would say that all of Central Florida is weak this year with the exception of BP and BM. It happens, LM defeated teams that defeated Columbus, so you can say what you want, even though they got swept, they are still a decent team.

Anybody have a legit top five going in to Regions?
I am assuming we do a top five of only the teams left since BP lost and they were probably second in the state behind BM. A lot of top teams went out in districts so the pool of teams has dropped.
Who makes it to states?

1. Columbus 2. Bishop Moore 3. Lake Mary 4A. Sunset 4B. Winter Park
All of these teams will be in states with exception of BM or LM.

The only difference in my five would be BM and Columbus swapping spots. Other than that I think you have it pretty dead on.
The semi final matchups should be Columbus vs BM and Winter Park/South Broward vs Sunset

Now that the state tournament is done, who is your top ten? Mine is...
1. Bishop Moore-I think they are undoubtably the best team in the state, they had a more difficult road to the championship then probably anybody else, and they swept everybody they played during the playoffs, including Berkely, Lake Mary, Archbishop, and Columbus.
2. Berkely-They lost to Bishop Moore in districts so they couldn't go far in the playoffs, but I have them over Columbus because they were 2-1 against them during the season, beating them the last two times they played them.
3. Columbus-Definitely the best team from down south and won a lot of games against very good teams all season, but wasn't able to do it against Bishop Moore.
4. Lake Mary-Lost only to Berkely, Columbus, Bishop Moore, and a fluke to Lake Howell, beat the good teams from down south, except for Columbus, including Spanish River, Southwest, etc.
5. Sunset-They never beat anybody that impressive during the season, and had an easy road in but they won games when it mattered, and they beat a good winter park team and made it to the finals.
6.Winter Park-A little up and down all season, losing to some teams they probably could and should have beat, but played good in the end to make it to the semi finals.
7.Spanish River-Probably would have been as high as 4th or 5th, but the lost to Boca in district semis was a very bad loss and knocked them down. If not for that loss they probably would have made it all the way to the state championship game.
8. Archbishop McCarthy-They had a very solid season with a lot of wins, but only one against a good team was Columbus, however, they were missing JP during that game.
9. Southwest Miami-Had a very tough district with Columbus, they could have done good if they had an easier road to the state tournament, their only losses were to Archbishop, Lake Mary, and Columbus.
10. South Broward-This team didn't have many great players but they seemed to win a lot, only 3 losses on the season, but also very few good wins, they did make it to the state tournament so they're my number 10.

I agree with the following list except I would probably switch WP with McCarthy. McCarthy played BM relatively tough and even beat WP earlier in season at Dr. Philips tournament. Just my two cents.

I would drop Lake Mary and move some people up but WP deserves to be ahead of Archbishop. WP could have pulled it out against Sunset if the injury did not occur but they were pretty evenly matched so the 4 5 and 6 range teams can all be changed up. Archbishop should be 7th. They lost to Sunset in 3 and I think if they would have played WP now it would have been a lot closer of a game. The rankings dont even matter at this point though BM is 1 and thats it. Congrats to all the teams who made it in the tournament and good luck next season.
