Not many games on the bill tonight. I expect there to be a pretty good crowd. Come enjoy a great match tonight at BM. JV6 Varsity 7pm.

Insult... Sorry you know me better than that. I am saying you guys played the best I have ever seen you all play. Did I miss something? No trash talk here.

i also take that comment as an insult, Mike, and don't really appreciate it. anyone who says that that is the best a team can play, either means that they played well-beyond their abilities, or that they have completely reached their ceiling. either way, it is an insult. no team has ever played the "best they can play" - you as a coach should know that.

Honestly, I don't think Coach Ladewski would ever make a comment toward another team with the intentions of it being insulting. It was a good game and Olympia proved that they not only came into the '08 season regarded as one of, if not the best, teams in Central Florida, but they also proved that they can maintain that title throughout the entire regular season. Something that I have seen many teams (especially my own) couldn't do. Congratulations to you! Ian, you are on your way to playing Division 1 volleyball. No question.

Coach Helton, Take it as you will, but the best a team can play is always changing, at least we coaches hope it is changing. It's called improving. I am basically stating that you all brought your 'A' game. I'd change my post, but I really don't think it is insulting at all.
I think BM JV played the best they could play yesterday, and we lost. I highly doubt that they have played the best game of volleyball they will ever play. I mean heck they are 9 freshman and 3 sophomores. Have they hit their ceiling?
I know Olympia will get better in the next three weeks. In fact, I'd count on it! If you play the same way you played yesterday you will go far, perhaps even win it all, but I'd bet know you are not going to rest on that. Good Luck the rest of the season and districts

Congratulations to both teams for the excellent volleyball they have played this season. One of the problems with message boards, as with all typed communications, is that it becomes difficult to convey the inflection and intonation that could clearly change the way that someone takes your message. Adding icons or smiley faces can not substitute the subtleties of an actual facial expression. When I first read the message in question I was taken aback a bit, but if I consider the source it is easier for me to believe that it was not meant as a dig on Olympia. One could breakdown Hornet's statement, "I don't think you guys can play much better than that" to understand that Olympia could not play any better ever and therefore would not likely repeat the same performance or maybe even got "lucky". If I take the same statement and run it through my mind in a "Larry the Cable Guy" voice it would clearly be a compliment. For now don't go off half-thingyed, and fly off the handle just becuz someone let their mouth overload their tail. Let's mend some fences cuz the sun don't shine on the same dog's tail all the time. Good luck to all during districts. I should be grading some papers.
