Lake Mary’s dynasty within Seminole County could possibly come to a close from either Lyman or a potentially very strong Winter Springs team, likely upsetting the district. Lyman should be strong as usual, with a new coach it’s going to be interesting to see the outcome of this inexperienced coach. Winter Springs should be very strong with two very experienced seniors taking the charge for them this year. Lake Mary lost 3 extremely influential seniors and it will be interesting to see how they react this year.
Freedom should be very strong this year again, with almost an identical starting line up to last year. The vast majority of the starting line up plays on the top club teams in Florida. Lake Nona’s team should not be as strong as last year, as their team lost influential players from last year. Timber Creek lost the majority of their starting line up and should not be as strong as last year. Apopka should be very strong, with their line up (hopefully) maturing from last year. Everything for them depends on maturity on and off the court. Bishop Moore has lost almost everyone and will not amount to anything this season. Dr. Phillips can be good but will likely not have a strong season.
Down south, Gibbons has lost almost their entire team except for their star outside Michael Valenzi. It’s pretty much impossible for Gibbons to repeat this year unless Valenzi can be unstoppable in every aspect of the game with a strong supporting cast. Southwest should be strong again, with another solid team coming into the season. Ransom should not be anything special this year but will be in the coming years. Archbishop McCarthy has one of the strongest outsides in the state, but he won’t be able to accomplish much without a good setter and supporting cast. Boca will not be anything this year.
The majority of the teams within Florida will not be that strong and it is pretty much anyone’s game for states. It is going to come down to which team wants it the most. My pre-season predicted state winner is Freedom, coming with one of the strongest line ups in Florida at the beginning of the season. I will update my prediction throughout the season.

I am in agreement with Volley expert. Winter Springs and Lyman will be the best in Seminole county, with Winter Springs Having the big edge. Lake Mary has lost to much to even be considered for districts let alone states... Freedom will be the dominating force over all and it will be between Winter Springs or Winter Park and Freedom at States.

Watching the Seminole tournament this weekend it was obvious the refs were against lyman. It's almost as if they were being payed and completely ignoring the line judges. We might have another NFL situation on our hands.

Lake Mary played a great game last night vs a very good Winter Springs team. Lake Brantley has improved greatly and can be spoilers for district seeding and possibly sneak in to be in district top four. Lyman always tough to beat as well. The district is wide open.

Lake Mary got beat by LBHS. Sad.. Lake Mary is not as good as I thought they would be. They will probably be out of the district play if they play like this. To go 5 with Spruce Creek, then go 5 and lose to LBHS. so much for District being wide open. It will probably be as follows: Lyman LBHS Winter Springs and a tossup between HHS, LMHS, Ovideo and Seminole
