the seedings were almost perfect. OG 18s got 1st, OG 17s got 2nd, Sons 17s got 3rd, Long wood 17s got 4th, OG 17 2s got 5th, Cntrl FL got 6th, and OG 16 1s and 2s got 7th or 8th.
Sons 17 1s are a strong team this year and good blocking team. OG 17s are very strong and very well rounded but they still dont click as a team, should be better then how they are. OG 18s were missing 3 huge players in danny walsh, Sam Davis, And Gage brick. and they still did very well and won it. that team will be a powerhouse

ya we were missing 3 big players but we had alot of ppl step up and play great at the tourney....and in my opinion the sons 17s are well rounded and prob would have done better against us if boomer didnt cramp....but i still think that our 17-1s is a stronger/deeper team then the sons.....but if they play it will depend on who is playing the best that day.....

the gold 17-1's on paper are freakin nasty, give em some time and they'll be next to untouchable. as will the 18s.
longwood got 4th and from what i heard kept with the 18's and gold 17-1's? how on earth did that happen?

lyman isnt to bad. very scrappy and stays in ralleys. and cj and fred lead them. but it was the 1st game of the tourny for 18s and first time we played with that line up, since losing the players but no excuses. long wood for 17s was pretty intense game, alot of mis serves at crucial times for both teams. and congrats to sons 15s! how did the gold 15s and 14s do?

Very fun tournament. I think the Gold teams and the Sons were pretty happy with the level of play for just getting back together after the high school season. There were some really entertaining matches, and great sportsmanship during the day. It is nice to see the development of both programs- because the only way for Florida to catch up to the Cali and midwest programs is to improve competition in our own state. Some glaring areas for all the Florida teams to work on... First of all our serving is weak, and inconsistent.... Some of the top areas have four or five servers on every team that just bring heat on the jumpies, and some nasty hybrid jump floaters that we just don't see here. For us to finish high at big competitions, we really need to be able to both pass that level serve, and also get our opponents out of system- the good teams are going to eat up our serving...Second, none of our clubs ran the back row very much- or blocked it very well, although the Sons and Gold 17[s run the D, but no one runs the pipe or the bic, and those sets are run more then the outside with high level teams. We need to be able to get three up on those situations if we want to beat top teams... And we need to see it from our own area as well....One last thing as I read this entertaining post board... are the guys from both the Sons and Gold who talk major trash about each other even getting on the court? because I know the top players on those teams have a lot of respect for each other- just wondering...

well i kno for 18s we run the d ball alot to gage and the pipe to sam alot. but both wernt there at the tourny haha. and i know for 18s our coach just wanted to float serve and play some volleyball. also since 1 side didnt have enough room to jump serve.

i cant wait to see what everyone looks like after a couple tournaments together because granted most of the teams (gold and sons) had some of there players still in high school season so when both clubs actually get chemistry and a full team then it should be fun for both at the summer slam and the regional tournament....and are the sons 18's going to east coast this weekend?
