Does the HP team divide into different age groups, or is it everybody? in other words, will a 15 compete against a 17 for the same slot?

Hi, just a couple of items on the HP tryouts. We will be carrying twelve players. Remember it is quite a financial commitment. The training camp cost is $150- that is July 18-21st just before the team leaves for Tucson. THe cost for the competition- and this includes airfare, hotel, gear, and some meals is $600. So for all of those who do the HP it will cost you $750 if you make the team and accept-and probably another $100 on food... We will be running a much more intense try out then last year. We decided that because in JO's you guys have to play four tough days in a row, that we are going to really push things during our 3 hour tryout Friday June 20. Might as well get used to playing tired...I will continue to check this website with any questions you may have. Good lulck to all.

Oh and I forgot to add... in terms of ages, it is 1990 and younger for the cut off date so yes, you can have 15's vs 18's in the tryouts... We will select the best 12 that fit the age definition....and that can afford it... IT is a crime that USA volleyball does not find a way to fund raise or compensate for these HP programs...and don't put it on Florida because this is a USA policy...it just means a lot of deserving players will be shut out because of funds....pretty rough to come up with if you are already spending $1,000 on JO's...

If you are 15 what are the chances of making one of the 12 spots? It doesn't sound possible. There are a lot of great 17's and 18's out there.

Here is the Florida HP Boys Team: Marshall Brock Johnathan Gomez CJ Shearer Travis Nichols Mikee DeJager Shane Rickenbaker Ian Karbiener John-Michael Plummer Kyle Kurlander Kevin Reim Victor Schaefer Danny Gruszcyk
I see guys from OG, Fl. Sons, Longwood. If all the teams at the HP tournament are this stacked that will be one great tournament to watch or play in. Good luck guys. Bring home a win for Florida Volleyball.
