Also, I apologize if this is not a great question to ask but how is Nick Williams doing? I have heard many different things but I do not know what is right. Does it seem like he will be able to play? He is a huge asset to Gibbons. i just read an article that said that he might not ever be able to walk again. so i doubt he will be playing

1. tc wont even get out of districts again..olympia ull take em to town 2. bm should be pretty good but idn bout 2nd in the state..they lost big red 3. douglas (thats my team) will be very strong...all our starters have been playing club this summer and myself and aaron klein have just started playing beach which is rapidly improving our game. 4. river like always will be good...im tight with all of em and they are all excited for a rematch at regionals this upcomming year. should be an even better game then it was this year. both river and douglas only lost 1 sr this year 5. palmetto from what i heard lost allot of their starters. but i will give them the award for putting up the best block i have ever seen/faced. we played open at JO's and i still didnt see a block quite like palmettos 6. southwest - congrats on last season. good job. i dont really know much on who they lost, im assuming it was quite a few people. i thought i heard that #2 was a junior and their setter was a sophomore but i could be wrong. 7. gibbons lost alot of players including that nasty rightside and austin. and with nick out their going to have brand new starters. but as we know they have great coaching and a team of like 25 people so they should be pretty good 8. olympia has ian and will most likely dominate tc in districts. i think their setters fairly young to 9. i dont know anything about lyman and for the other schools.. hml was garbage but they do have angel who is a beast..
pace will have jon gomez who will be a junior outside. he is getting alot of experience playing hp and is doing lots of camps to improve his overall game
south broward should be pretty good. alot of their players played on sons 17's and one on the 16's. good outlook.
and im hearing good things about mcarthy.
any other supprising teams that no one is thinking of?

jhen shut up!! dont talk about central fl when you dont know what your talking about. olympia lost every starter but ian and the setter. any team focuses on ian and no one else on that team can put the ball away even on a single block. and bm will be nasty even without walsh. they have the whole golds 16s team with the 2 transfers and danny g and dejager on 17s and a couple of 17 2s players too. there whole varsity and most jv play gold. of course you talk so great about your team but your team had no one but big red, i mean come on he played freaking back row.

southwest is going to be strong this year, and i agree alex will replace mex very nicely. they lost both of their starting outside hitters and one of their middles. their setter, middle and opp (who is moving to the outside this year) are coming back and they have plenty of talent to replace the other spots.
however, in the dade summer league palmetto did take out sunset in two (who is my sleeper team for top ten in the state next year) and then beat southwest in two and looked pretty good keeping them under 20 both sets! from what i hear, southwest did have all of their better players there. sounds like palmetto was missing a kid or two, so it was a good match up. but it is very early and southwest always improves 100 fold so it should be an exciting race between those two teams this year.
from my understanding, gibbons not only lost their setter and big opp but they also lost their best middle hitter John T Downs, and it doesnt sound good for nick williams to be returning to play (my prayers go out to him and his family). so i dont know why everyone thinks they will be so good. can anyone enlighten me? i remember their other middle was pretty good and athletic but he was really short and not a great blocker. who is going to lead that team?
personally i think river loosing an outside isnt as bad as douglas loosing their setter. i think its going to be harder for douglas to find a replacement. plus river was better last year. so i would put river over douglas, although both will be good and probably top 5 or so.
This is what i think for next years top ten:
1 River 2 Timber Creek 3 BM 4 Palmetto 5 Southwest 6 Douglas 7 Olympia 8 South Broward 9 Sunset 10 Lyman

I agree, I think River and Douglas can both be top 5 next year. River has almost all their players back and they have good coaching. A majority of their kids played for the Florida Sons this summer and has improved. All did very well. Douglas only lost their setter. Most of the Douglas players also played for the Florida Sons this summer. These player also did very well over the summer playing OG in a lot of tournaments. I heard their setter problem is not that bad. The funny thing is both River and Douglas players are very good friends.
I also agree about BM will be there on top, along with Southwest and Palmetto. All are very good programs and history.

A lot of teams lost many players without good replacements and other teams got better---St.Thomas? are u kidding. They lost a lot of players and will struggle. Olympia and Gibbons lost very good players and surely will drop in the list. Hialeah, Columbus and Winter Springs??? What are you smoking?

That sounds cool..How does it work? High School teams play each other all summer? No clubs?
