those 2 were actually good defensive players... it was just a really weird system that was limiting what they could do

Do you realize that O G 18s actually had a better record at Nationals than the Sons last year? OG just lost 2 crossover matches. Remember, the 18s got jobed in seeeding. When they arrived at Nationals they were seeded 12th, then they dropped them all the way to 25th.

...Since when did the record actually matter...its like in high school if you lose all your regular season games but at the end you just go and take it all the way to states... and you are right they did win East coast??? how long have they been playing together?? and now compare that to how long the sons played together...

who actually cares about how long this kid played club? anyways both teams were obviously very good if they were playing in 18s open and its amazing that fl sent 2 teams to open when fl volleyball is terrible even though it is improving

your right florida is way behind the rest of the country in competition wise and we are improving. The past 2 years we have had teams go to JO's and be successful in club or open. I played for the florida sons last year and i know our goal was to send home as man california teams as possible. We didnt have a great record, but we won the games that counted and for the most part, they were california teams which is what we really wanted. We have made a name for floida with OG winning east coact and Sons doing what they did at nationals and have a majority of both teams go play in college. If only Florida had a ncaa college team where we can send our best to compete against others. If you think of all the guys who have graduated from florida and went off to play in college, and if you put them all on one college team, i have no doubt they would be able to compete with the best of them.

Florida volleyball isnt great... but the club teams we put out always make noise wherever they go... O-Gold has always been nasty, they have the coaches and the interest of the kids at a much younger age than down here in south FLA. the sons started because SoFla went away after all the kids graduated. but check what these teams have done in their very recent history and its pretty impressive considering that most people around here still think its a girls sport!
i miss those old O-Gold-SoFla games... they were so much fun to be a part of!
