It was a standing room only at Berkeley Prep last night as they welcomed Tampa's Tampa Prep Varsity & Junior Varsity teams to their gym. The Berkely Prep Bucs honored their graduating seniors with flowers, and a NYC Rockettes dance line routine to the tunes of "Old Blue Eyes" himself.
But it was down to business after the pre-game festivities. The Bucs dominated all three games, with assistance from Mackenzie Dagostino and Jessica Silva both Sydney Brown and Jordan Burgess were able to initiate some well placed kill shots. The Bucs played very well with no competition from the Terrapins. Surprisingly Tampa Prep showed little to no coordination within their players. Lauren Shelmon did have some significant assist to Corey Perkins but it was just not enough to rally any points on the board. Katie Krueger was able to produce a few kill shots, but again to late in the game to be able to produce a win. A truly disappointing evening for Jessica Lamm's Terrapins.
On the junior varsity side again Berkeley Preps Junior Varsity Team won their consecutive games to Tampa Prep. The JV Bucs again displayed some great action on the court. With the assistance of Dallas Adams and Morgan Reyes the Bucs hitters Olivia Galante & Caroline Danco were able to produce some kills shots and keep the Terrapins down on points.
Overall it was a great night of girls volleyball! in the Tampa Bay Area
