As I mentioned, Winter Park gave Bishop Moore everything they could take, losing in the 3rd set. WP beat Palmetto in the second match. Palmetto is without their starting OH they didn't look great and when I left was in a tight match with Cypress Creek. BM should take gold.
Pool B was the best. Olympia will play Lyman for Gold as they went 2-0 over Boone and Lake Nona. Nona didn't look as good as I thought they would. They have some talent to get better, just a matter of working together. Boone also played pretty well. Olympia was B+, but they did miss Luke. Lyman played quite well and don't think either team got to 20 points against them. Should be interesting final game in Pool B.
Pool C will be intriguing. Gibbons beat DP fairly easily in 2. Berkeley then beat Park Vista - based on the talent, I'd say that was an upset despite the seedings. Then PV beat CG in three. In the last match, DP was playing well against BP, but I didn't we a final. Could easily be a three way tie. Tie breaker edge goes to CG right now because of set percentage.
Arch Bishop won both of their sets easily. Mourning and Timber Creek was a close match and should be a fight for Silver.
Look forward to some good vball tomorrow. No dominate team and I could see 4 teams winning it all - BM, Arch Bishop and winner of Lyman and Olympia, Don't think anyone in pool C will be able to pull it off.

Winter Park looked very strong today vs Bishop Moore. BM is good as usual but WP definitely gave them a run for their money. What really impressed me was WP's serving and blocking. The team was also very scrappy and they have a good libero. Maybe WP could be a wild card this season? BM will take gold and the best semi final match tomorrow will be BM vs Archbishop. Rematch of the state finals. definitely going to tell a lot about the season's favorites.

The teams that did not live up to expectations today we're definitely Gibbons and Nona. Gibbons looked almost like a middle school team based on size except for their best middle. Not surprised Park Vista beat them. Lake Nona went 0-2 today and they were supposed to be really good this year. Seemed like they had no leadership or coaching and there looked to be some really bad attitudes on the team. CG definitely did not deserve the #3 seed in this tournament. Top 4 teams this year definitely seem to be BM, Archbishop, Lyman & Olympia in no order.

Top 5 players at each position to watch at DP Tourney: OH- MB- RS L/DS- S Don't quote me on this and I'm not sure of all the names but here's a rough picture. OH- Both BM outsides looked impressive today. Senior is Carson not sure of the younger players name. Olympia blonde outside looked pretty good. Michael is back as usual for McCarthy. Bronson for Lyman is way bigger than anyone else this year and he can get kills but extremely weak in serve receive Everyone else seems average to me & no other standouts M-Richie from DP (although he is playing outside) JT from CG (probably the best middle from the first day of DP) Matt from Olympia Ryan from WP RS-Luke Allmond should be the best rightside this year Lyman has a pretty good rightside Not many dominant Rightsides this season (at least didn't see any today from contending teams) S-Luis from McCarthy Domanik from Bishop Moore Robbie from Olympia Christian from Lyman A bunch of other guys are pretty even L-Garth from Lyman and Nikki from McCarthy are definitely in close competition for best Ryan from Mourning Nico from WP Alain from BM Again I didn't see everyone at every position play today, but here's a starter list for who to watch

Lyman beats Arch Bishop McCarthy in 2. Lyman looked very strong. Great offensive performances by outside Bronson and right side Parker had many great blocks and hits out of the right side . Libero Garth had some beautiful digs. Christian's sets were good all around. Great team performance. Arch Bishop just couldn't match the intensity of Lyman

Unfortunately I wasn't present at the DP Tournament this weekend. Looks like it was a lot of competition and some high quality matches. Anyone want to give me their All-Tournament 1st,2nd, and maybe even 3rd teams? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's extremely unfortunate that only 2 of the top 4 teams have the ability to make it to the final 4. Top 4 being Lyman, Archbishop, Bishop Moore & Olympia.

The key to beating Lyman is to serve Bronson. Can't pass to save his life! Also this team had weak middles. Probably the best setter in the state though
