As of the July 12 tourney the Florida Grass Court Series has decided to substantially reduce the tournament price for each event.
To facilitate this price reduction the tournament t-shirt has been discontinued.
The factors in this decision were:
1. Keep tournament pricing low cost and affordable especially with respect to increase gasoline prices. Teams can expect to save approximately $40 a team. Almost a tank of gas to be used to drive to the tourney.
2. Many players have already a "BUNCH" of grass court t-shirts. They don't need another one. Some folks just don't need a t-shirt period as they can already start their own t-shirt shop from all the tourneys and races they have done.
3. The t-shirts were the single largest expense for the Grass Court Series. Profit or loss always was determined by how many t-shirts were made/sold and the price of the t-shirts du jour.
4. Current thoughts are that the Florida Grass Court Series will one make one t-shirt a year and will be available for the player's first tourney of the year. 2nd through nth tourney will be reduced price.
other than the t-shirt the Florida Grass Court Series is the same.
Strong competition
Low Cost
Cash Prizes for all Divisions - Pay out amounts for most divisions are the same in absolute dollars to the players. This means if you made a net of $30 in the Men's A division you will still make $30 in men's A.
Open divisions will still have the variable pay out based ont he number of teams. 1st place in open with a minimum of 4 or more teams guaranteed to pay out higher than the fixed rates in Men's "A", "BB" or Coed.
Any comments please post here.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dave
