Mark Headrick,
Long time member of the Florida volleyball community has passed away today Monday, June 15 around noon.
Mark did receive the liver transplant that was needed but was not able to recover completely.
I will post any memorial services on this web site when I find out about them.
Mark was a very involved member of the Florida volleyball community having served as the Regional Commissioner, an accomplished college & club referee, junior's coach and player. His was inducted in to the Florida Region Hall of Fame a couple of years back.
Mark was most proud of coaching the the O.V.A. 12s teams which twice he led to 5th finishes at JOs. Almost all O.V.A. elite players were at one time coached by Mark on the 12s team. Mark was also one of the founding coaches of the Orlando Gold Boy's volleyball club.
Mark was accomplished collegiate official having referee numerous times the NAIA Regional tournament and the NCAA Division II Regional tournament.
On a personal note I consider Mark one of the key people in helping me become a better volleyball and sports official. Mark had an eye for detail and would never accept any excuse for less than 110% effort or performance. His attention to detail and dedication to sports made Mark the best volleyball official in the state of Florida.
His contributions will be missed.

Our volleyball community has lost a great ambassador, coach, and referee. I've had the privelege of knowing, playing with and competing against, laughing with, arguing with, respecting and admiring Mark's dedication to the sport of volleyball for the last 25 years. With any luck, there will be a volleyball game to play, team to coach, or match to ref in the great beyond...
