volleyball in south florida sucks now. and its only going to get worse

Actually south Florida volleyball sucked (was at it's lowest) two years ago when there were only two good teams in dade county. SW and palmetto killed everyone. But now there are a lot more competitive teams out there. SW and palmetto are still doing their thing, Columbus is playing at a very high level, sunset is very good again, coral park is solid as is Braddock Florida Christian and even homestead. I think a lot of this has to do with the young jv coaches out there. I think the jv level is rising and more competitive which is then raising the varsity level. I think within the next few years you will see this roll over to the varsity level in south Florida being more competitive than ever.
Not taking anything away from the varsity coaches, they are doing their thing too, and obviously developing a program by bring in good assistants so it's not just them doing it by themselves. I think having a good foundation is key and now these kids are getting it on a jv level not just good coaching from a varsity level

I think if you combine Dade county with teams from Broward and Palm Beach as "South Florida" you will have a very good list of players. You will have teams like AMHS, Gibbons, River, Douglas, Wellington. etc.
