Keep in mind the pools were designed accommodate proms, FCAT and various other scheduling conflicts. Example, Berkeley is #1 in their pool but in the 4th seed

Example, Berkeley is #1 in their pool but in the 4th seed Pool 1 Ridge St. Thomas Boca Pompano Pool 2 Douglas Gardens Monarch Plantation Pool 3 West Boca Dwyer Wellington Berkeley Pool 4 Gibbons Sunset Suncoast West Broward The pools look pretty fair. However. My friend told me that this tournament does not have "normal pool play". He told me that the first seed in each pool has to play the first three games in a row. Is this true? ?? Why? ? |

Also heard that was the case. Something with Seminole Ridge. Don't understand why an issue with one school causes all the pools to have strange scheduling. Also noticed 2 schools from the same district are in the same pool. No one pays to go to tournaments to play their district opponents. Sucks for them. Way to think the pools through.

Some of the teams attending have FCAT that week so they cannot get out of school early to play a 3 or 4p match, so their first scheduled match is at 5. Coincidentally one of the schools has prom, another school has kids that have a banquet that night, so they need to play all their matches early - 3,4,5
