Hoping that the jv programs are doing well. Hopefully high school volleyball has some kind of future? how are the south florida junior varsity teams?

Based on the palmetto tournament this past weekend, both amhs and southwest's jv programs played very well. Both teams had players that were putting the ball down.

Southwest looked really good as they won the Palmetto JV tournament with about 3-4 juniors from varsity  . Big hitter from Fl. Christian apperantly is a varsity player also.  Please correct me if I am wrong!! ;D |

great competition all around, no bad teams here. long day, most matches went to the 3rd set

Actually amhs won all their matches in 2 except the one they lost to palmetto 16-14 in the third set. They should have been in the finals against southwest, woulda been a better matchup.

True. However from my understanding, southwest beat palmetto in 2 and amhs beat ransom in 2. I just felt sw vs amhs and palmetto vs ransom would have been better matchups. Also, I heard there was a two way tie for first, seeding should have gone to sets or points.

Palmetto was 2-1 and McCarthy was 2-1 after pool play. A two way tie goes head to head.

Haha you're clearly from palmetto, it's volleyball! A two way tie goes to sets or points, and from what I've read and heard McCarthy shouldve gotten first in their pool but palmetto did and that's becauae it was they're tournament...

not from palmetto, just dont like mccarthy. they didnt deserve to go to gold because they lost the last deciding match to determine who goes to the championship. hope your varsity doesnt have the same work ethic, just sit back n expect to be given what you havent earned
get your facts strait, a two way tie goes head to head,
a three way tie goes to set percentage then points. (dave help me out here)
plus, to say that mccarthy sw woulda been better than palmetto sw cause mccarthy beat ransom in two is a dumb statement as well. just means that palmetto (probably) woulda beat ransom in two and sw (probably) woulda beat mccarthy in two

I am from mccarthy, and why are you saying our jv has a bad work ethic because they lost in 3? I don't get how that proves they have a bad work ethic, they lost because they don't have experience and they're young, but at least they're out there playing doing their best. And we(varsity) don't have a bad work ethic, thanks for caring though.

no i think that it is bs that your jv says they should have been in the finals. they need to understand that they wont automatically qualify just because they are mccarthy. they lost the critical match that determined if they were in the finals or not. they should have won, then they should have been in the finals.
