After beating DP and placing in gold at the palm beach tournament, is south broward still the underdog ? Can they go to states ?

south broward is a pretty solid team, but honestly i have NO IDEA why they are 1st in the power rankings being 19-1 with the majority of their wins being to no one. archbishob should obviously be 1st since they are 23-0 and have beat teams like river and bishop moore, then ridge, then eithersouth broward or columbis.

the reason why sb is ranked so high is because majority of their wins are sweeps, and the one loss they have was a 2-0 loss. Archbishops win over columbus, despite being a victory, was in 5 sets which probably hurt them alittle even though columbus was ranked high to begin with.

Yes I do believe SB's current #1 ranking is a math anomaly of the ranking system. They should be ranked high but probably not #1.
AMHS has played 3 tourneys this season, so they have 15 matches they have won in 2 sets. South Broward on the other hand has played mostly 3 of 5 matches. They have 3-0 wins in the majority of their wins hence the high ranking.
AMHS will probably re take the #1 position next week with a win over Wellington and if they don't win, then the ELO poll proves its genius once again.

what about the rif=dge vs river game? if ridge wins that shouldnt that put them higher up? and if river wins they should be higher too right?

South Broward is up there for good reason. They are a strong team who probably likes being the underdog. With everyone focusing on AMHS, they can sneak through to states with an easy road and could likely upset some solid teams. Their outsides and right sides are strong but middles need some work. Overall they will be a force to be reckoned with at the state level.

south broward has the easiest regional game. as long as they win districts they will walk into states, then will get raped first round by seminole ridge. do your research and see who you play first round. for you guys, its not a good match up. good luck though

NO WAY!!!! I saw the AMHS game. They do not even come close.

hahaha, chaminade is gonna beat south broward? they will be lucky if they can get past McArthur in districts. SB already beat them twice and they are gonna do it again.

South broward is a very talents in some positions, patrick, yoel, and joey are very strong compare to high school leveled players. i think their problem is the other positions. there setter has never set before i believe. they havent had a real setter in years and this has hurt them since losing richie in 07 and never returning to states since. other positions are very weak as well and from what ive seen, that really hurts them against the better teams.
as for chaminade, its not happening. there setter isnt good enough to get out of the district.
