Gold bracket with TB, WP and Archbishop was to be expected but Bone... Really?!? Did DP or PV have bad games or are thay legit this year? Boon isn't that good, they had an relatively easy pool and crossover match, they played DP, who we found out this weekend really isn't good at all, Park Vista isn't very strong, and then they had Oviedo, and i'm surprised they won that game, i think they are better then most people thought but they were crushed once they got into gold by Berkley and then WP. DP isnt good because they lost to Boone..? Boone made it all the way to the finals, and DP beat CC, TC, and Apoka.

Berk Prep: 1st place in the tournament. very solid core of players with a few younger ones mixed in. They have a lot of club experience which will help them in some of their harder matches this year. Think the best thing about them is they swing hard at every ball.To beat them you will have to find some way to exploit the weaker players on the team and the blocking scheme that they use. The team that can get a strong attack from a left and a right side attack at the same time should have a good chance at beating them. (they use the two man block to hide Kyle in the front row) make the block move from pin to pin. (Lake Mary with Patrick and Jordan come to mind but not sure if the coach knows what I am talking about) Overall outlook for Berk Prep is they should have a solid season with only a few teams that can challenge them. AMCS: 2nd in the tournament Liked this team. They seamed to stay under control emotionaly throughout their matches. Cory and two solid middles give them enough offense to win a lot of games. Club experience helps them out also. Weakness could be the second outside hitter. Seamed young. The team seamed to be coached well. I like that Cory seams to have grown up a Little. I don't know for sure but from what I have herd in the past he was a little in mature. Of course all kids were in mature at one time so not picking on you Cory. One thing I would suggest is stop getting on your younger players. You will need them to win some matches this year and you don't need them worrying about you. Use your experience to bring them up not down. Overall outlook. Should win 95% of their games but may need a little luck to win it all. Winter Park; 3rd in tournament. Again Club experience helps them out. Solid core but not the same as the two above. One big positive is their emotions. They feed off of each other when things are going well. One big negative though is they also bring each other down when things are not going well. (i personally do not like the way that the two outside hitters behave on the court. After a kill they have a look at me reaction. Sorry James and Jordan, this is a team sport and you will not win with that attitude. Have respect for the game and your teammates. Be humble.) Overall outlook. Drop off from last year. They are a little one dimensional. Stop James and there is not a lot of offense left. For them to do well this year they will have to keep emotions under control and play some D! Boone: 4th in tournament Luck of the draw in getting into gold playoffs. Not sure if they belonged there or got lucky. Looks like they are benefiting from an infusion of a youthfull coaching staff. They are kind of a repeat of Winter Park. If combs doesn't do it, it's not going to get done (kind of like James). Better team then last year but still not enough to hang with some of the upper level teams. Overall outlook. will win some matches but don't see much of a post season in their season. Lyman. 1st in Silver. Interesting team. Starting a Freshman outside, a soph outside, two soph middles, a soph setter and opp along with a soph libero. 2 senior role players are the only upper classmen. Look out as we may be hearing about this team for the next 2-3 years. Not sure if they have enough yet. looked great one play then inexperienced the next. club has really helped them and should be fun to watch if they get better as the year goes along. Overall outlook. Well balanced team that should win a lot of matches this year but the question is can they win their big ones? Park Vista: 2nd silver Ok team. Not a upper level team but lets see how the season goes. can they get better? If so, they can have a good season. Oviedo-Lk Howell, 3rd and 4th Same as Park Vista Other Observations. Is Dr. P really had that big of a drop off. Think they may have. C C, Tmber, Apopka may have solid seasons but not upper level teams. just my opinion on all this and sure some wil disagree. thats why I like this forum!!!

I pretty much agree with everything you said in the most recent post the only two things I don't are that Archbishop looked very beatable with two close games against WP and Lyman and getting beat by Berkely. I see them losing a few games especially if they play some of the tougher competition like BM or Columbus, etc. They won't be anywhere close to the level they were last year. And the other thing is that WP is a young team along with Lyman so look for both of those teams to mature as the season goes on. Lyman is all sophomores pretty much and WP has a young team with only three returning starters with one being their libero. Jordan should hold his own with James this year and that was definitely shown in the tournament. Also WP was missing their better setter the second day. Maybe would of changed the Archbishop game and Lyman got stuck with the toughest pool and could have easily been in Gold if put in Boone's pool. Should be an interesting season throughout but definitely in CF.

Who was setting and hitting for McCarthy? They had two setters, not sure who they are exactly. Decent hands, mediocre defense for both. Outsides were Cory and someone else. Cory played strong, seems like a matured leader but needs to bring his team up not discourage them. The other outside looked a little nervous/young but seems to have upside. They have two strong middles. Both did quite well at the tournament. The 2 opp were ok. They ran a 6-2 but neither one looked very comfortable in that position. Not a very big block either. This could be a weakness since their defense wasn't particularly great either.

The other outside is "victor" a transfer from Chaminade. He is a sophomore.
