Bishop Moore wins in 4. The way they have been playing I don't see them losing. They are the favorite to go all the way and I think they should do that. They are definitely the best team in the state.
Columbus also wins in 4. They are just the better team. Jupiter will give them a tough game but Columbus should win this one. They have been much better since JP returned and should give BM a tough matchup in the semis.
That means Bishop Moore vs Columbus in the Semis.
Winter Park and South Broward is somewhat of a toss up. It could go either way. Should come down to Yoel vs James. I am going to go against what everyone else is saying and pick Winter Park in 5.
Sunset should win this in 3 or 4 but Boca is on a tear lately and have been knocking off some top teams that many did not think they stood a chance against. Sunset should win but I wouldn't be surprised if Boca put up a fight.
This means Winter Park vs Sunset in the Semis.
Two Central Florida Teams and Two Miami teams. Looks interesting. Just my take on what might happen come Friday.

If Columbus plays how they were playing last night against Mater. Jupiter will be beating them in the quarter finals. They had good hits when the middle wasn't fast enough. But were getting blocked nasty at good points on the night. You could tell on there faces they didnt expect Mater to give them that much trouble. The 2nd set had even gone to 23-25.

No... Columbus I believe will win the quarter-final, but bishop Moore WILL annihilate them if they do not get their act together. They may choke and lose just like last year.

I agree with both of those statements. We all know that BM is going to be in the finals unless Columbus finally shows up and BM does not. The only thing is that nobody knows who will come out of the bottom. That is what will be the most interesting to watch cause it is all up for grabs.

Alrighty, I know everyone has been staying up late at night for just this the annual Crowder prognostication on the state tourney:
This document will be "LIVE" meaning I will be updating and improving my predictions as the tournament progresses.
Sunset vs Boca Interesting match up. Sunset has a tradition rich history with volleyball but for the longest time was in the same district as Southwest which proved to be a major road block. Sunset is 3-2 against teams still alive. Wins over Columbus, McCarthy, & Jupiter. Sunset has fared well in all the tourneys they played this year.
Boca comes through and knocks down another giant of Florida volleyball Spanish River, Boca Raton has a similar story of never going anywhere cause being in the same district as Spanish River. Has a new coach with international beach experience and won the Jungle Queen. Boca is 0-1 vs teams still alive.
I am gonna pick Sunset to win this match up in 4.
Columbus vs Jupiter Columbus played a schedule to win a championship this year. They played all comers and went to anyone's house who had a claim to being #1. Columbus won the Smoothie King tourney arguably the best tourney in the state this year, 2nd at Spring Sting, beat Bishop Moore, Berkley, Southwest, played Archbishop McCarthy and lost. Columbus is 2-2 vs teams still alive.
Jupiter again is that team that pulls off a good season that no one ever seems to notice. Very quietly advances to the state tourney. Unfortunately, I thing they have run into a juggernaut in Columbus. Jupiter is 0-1 vs teams still alive.
Columbus in 3.
Bishop Moore vs Archbishop McCarthy Final match in the Catholic school bracket. Jupiter are you really a public school? These two teams have been running into each other at the state tournament the last couple of years. If I remember correctly winner of this match up always plays in the finals. McCarthy made their big run last year and fell short in the title game. This is I believe 5th year in a row McCarthy is in state tourney so they are building a tradition rich program with success to rival any in the state. McCarthy is 3-2 vs teams still alive.
Bishop Moore started the year out with a "RECRUITING SCANDAL" but that has gone away rightfully so. So the rest of the season they could just concentrate on playing ball. A few big wins this year over the traditional powers but no championships per se till districts and state tourney. Led by argubably the best player in the state this year Christian #1. BMCHS is 2-1 vs teams still alive.
Prediction: Bishop Moore in 3.
Winter Park vs South Broward
Winter Park has a break through season and reaches state tourney. Been creeping up to this level for several years now. From what I have seen can be a scrappy team with some front row power. Winter Park is 0-2 vs teams still alive.
Sunset is back after a couple years of being out. Solid program that has put together a very good season. South Broward is 2-0 vs teams still left.
Picking South Broward in 4 maybe 5 in this match up.
Saturday's Predictions.
Bishop Moore v Columbus.
Well BMCHS could get the chance to play for the state championship 3 times this season. The district final against Berkeley could have been a state final. Vs Columbus in the Semis could be a State Final. Then if they win the State Final will be a State Final. So I guess I am saying BMCHS had the toughest path to the Championship. Don't forget Lake Mary was also knocked off on their way to Kissimmee.
Columbus is Smoothie King & GMAC tourney champs. Played toughest schedule for the season and seem to be clicking with everyone healthy.
Gonna pick Columbus in 5.
Sunset vs South Broward.
Only thing I really know about both teams is Coach Leo & Coach Camilo. Both had good seasons and in the only match up South Broward came out on top. So my prediction is South Broward in 4.
Finals.
Columbus over South Broward in 4

Columbus did not beat Archbishop just for the record. Archbishop beat them at home in three.

That was before they got JP back. If they had him they probably would have won the game. Look at the difference he has made for them since losing those two games early in the season to Sunset and Archbishop. They only lost 2 more times and it was to what many believed to be the best team in the state Berkeley Prep. Now that Berkeley is out Bishop Moore and Columbus are 1A and 1B for who is the best. Many believe the winner of that game will become the state champion. You cannot rule out the bottom though with some very tough teams with a lot of heart still remaining.

Sorry to sound stupid, But who is Christian #1

Two outsides for BMCHS are Christian F and Christian M. Christian F has been there 4 years and is a senior maybe best player in the state. So he gets Christian #1 desingation. Christian M is a transfer from the coast and is a sophmore or junior so he is Christian #2.
Both have last names that are longer than 4 letters so I don't know how to spell them.

If South Broward does beat WP i do not see them beating Sunset in the semi finals. BM vs Columbus is a toss up. The winner will be who decides to show up and play their best. Should be an interesting weekend.
