Okay guys I do not like where this thread is going. The folks who are being "DISCUSSED" are not doing the discussing.
If this is becoming a HEALTHY competivie rivalry that will help promote boy's volleyball then this is a GREAT thread. If this thread is about bashing folks then this is not a great thread.
Russ Williams is a long time teacher / coach in the central Florida area. He was the first coach from central Florida to win a boy's state championship. He founded both a girl's and boy's volleyball club that is now very well attended by players from all schools. Russ has created a business, jobs, and opportunities for kids to play volleyball. The joke or laugther you are hearing may just be from the fun a lot of folks have playing volleyball at Longwood.
Comments such as being kicked off the USA Board of Directors is nonsense. Russ is an ELECTED member of the USAV Board of Directors of the Florida Region. He can not be KICKED OFF. So any "INSIDE" knowledge you may believe you have is either obtained and SHARED on this message board in an unethical manner or simply not true.
Tom Snodgrass who I have known since he was 13 has always been passionate about volleyball. The fact that he has won two state championships at his high school alma mater is SWEET. Tom is now the Club Director for Orlando Gold and has continued the reputation and success of the original boy's club in the Central Florida area.
It is unfortunate that the two leading boys programs did have a conflict of interest this weekend but a bunch of kids still got to play some ball. As all the posters have stated the kids at Lyman got to play some great ball and the kids at the convention center got to experience what being rock stars feel like at a concert. All good stuff folks.
Volleyball is good. Hopefully every one will keep it that way.
