Florida based Olympian Steve Grotowski and his wife, pro beach volleyball player Capri Grotowski wil be holding a clinic for all junior players in the ZEMgear Open to be held in Hollywood April 20-21. The tournament will feature male and female doubles teams competing for $5,000 cash prizes on Saturday and Sunday. The Juniors will lay Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. The Grotowski’s will run a free clinic for the junior players from 9-10 am Sunday before the juniors start playing their competition.
Steve Grotowski represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics in London. Steve, a resident of Boynton Beach, has dual American and British citizenship which allowed him to compete for either of those countries. He played on the International Pro Beach Volleyball Tour for tour years, competing in numerous countries including China, Brazil, Russia and Poland on his way to qualifying for the Olympics.
Capri Grotowski has played in 30 Pro beach Volleyball tournaments finishing as high as 9th place. She was named to the All-Florida Sun Conference team while playing college ball at Northwood University (West Palm Beach)
The clinic is included int eh entry fee for the junior players. The Grotowski’s will gear the clinic towards skills that players need to know as they compete in beach doubles tournaments. The clinic is sanctioned by Volley America,
