The national tournament in Reno, Nevada was great. There were over 190 men's college teams competing. All high school seniors that will be going to FSU, UF, UCF, Miami, Florida Gulf Coast and USF that want to continue playing volleyball should contact the individual college via Facebook. Most practices start in the fall semester and some teams even get together over the summer. College level volleyball is so more intense than high school. You will love it. Keep playing.

To the guy above me, yes college ball is more exciting. However, club college volleyball is not all its cracked up to be. No strict officiating, guys taking it as a joke etc. If you are a really passionate high school volleyball player, club volleyball will not be enough to satisfy your needs. You need to find a real collegiate team to play for. Think there's only one in Florida. But I think there is more coming in the south/east if you don't want to go to far away from home. Think theres one in georgia as well and a bunch in the carolinas as everyone knows.

it is true that some college club teams are really disorganized. This is because tournaments, rosters, practices are all scheduled by player/captains. There is however many teams which their captains do a great job. In the Miami area there are two club teams. UM and FIU both have a really good players and can compete at a decent level. From what i know though, only UM is organized and a reliable club.
I've heard from some of the FIU guys , that their team is really disorganized and practice once every two weeks or sometimes never before going to a tournament. But on the contrary UM attends every tournament its allowed to and seem like they have great leadership from their setter and outside hitter whom are beasts.
Again, if you want to get serious, i do not recommend club volleyball. Many teams are led by the players themselves which of course will not give anyone a chance to someone so they can sit on a bench.

UCF and UF have great teams and are very organized. These teams compete in many tournaments like Maryland and Indiana. UCF even hosts a tournament. Both teams competed in Nationals in Reno in Division 1. In fact they both belong to an eastern division called EIVA. FSU also has a good team and does some local tournaments including Georgia. No matter where you go to college there is volleyball. You got to get involved and should contact the school way in advance.

the best clubs in the state are UCF, UF, FSU, and Miami. FIU, USF, FAU, and FGCU have clubs too. UCF has the best tournaments, all the clubs usually go plus warner university (the school in florida who has a NAIA team). Palm beach atlantic use to have a D3 team.

From what i know , FIU which is an alternative to UM has beat UCF,UM and FSU this year. I dont know why people are discouraging others from that club. But unfortunately they are really disorganized and ive heard they have trouble filling up their roster to travel yet alone get funds. I hope more schools open ncaa or naia collegiate programs.

I know UCF and UF are very well organized and have commitment for volleyball. As someone earlier indicated, they belong to the EIVA division which has numerous tournaments in various states. UCF, UF and Miami also went to Nationals this year. FSU has a good team, but I am not sure why they did not go to Nationals. FGC and FiIU also has a team, but someone has to step up and organize those clubs. It would be great if all colleges in Florida have organized clubs that will play in both local and out-of-state tournaments. I hope the new people going to all the florida colleges get involved and be committed.

If you are looking into playing after high school, this will be a great alternative for some. You just cant look for the same strict schedule as if you were in high school, sometimes you cant get gym time so practices can be really early or late at night and every other day. Ive seen mostly every club play at the UCF and UM tournament and i can say that UF is by far the best in the state. Then its followed by UM , FIU and UCF, FGCU and FAU. All built with great players of all heights and skill level.
The UF team has nasty players all that can jump block and hit like that team is STACKED.Their libero and outside are filthy good. UCF has also a great team with their outside leading the team. UM from what ive seen before has a former D1 outside who is very very skilled and gets great looks from their nasty SW setter. FIU seems to hav a differnt team every time, maybe because of their commitment and organization like said above. They seem to be filled at the outside position n right side, both their outsides n rightsides are nasty, one of their outsides is the smallest in the teambut has crazy bounce, and their middle i think is his brother also skies and has a nasty swing but they seem to all lack discipline so thats something you should loom into when picking a school.
I cant wait for next year, nationals was by far rhe best ive seen this year. Players are becoming so athletic and skilled and our sport seems to be growing bigger and bigger every year. Good luck to everyone.

You guys can talk trash about FIU but we've beaten almost every team we've played against , for example we beat UM at there tourney in the finals in the 3rd set coming back 4-12 , we've beat ucf at there tournament and we give them runs for their money every now and then , yes we are unorganized but hey if we don't practice and we still beat big teams , imagine when we do practice .. Very scary what we are capable of doing with no practice , no coach , just a couple of great players wanting too play and show people what we can do

Honestly if we go to out of state tourneys I don't mind , do I care no not really, as long as we go to tourneys and play and beat teams that people say we shouldn't beat with no practice or anything like that, I'm good right here in Miami , so to answer your question I don't care if we got the full volleyball experience I do what I can with what we get ? and if it means beating your team over and over and over I'm good with that .. The only team that can talk nuts and I would be fine with that is ucf cause I got a lot of respect for them any other team can suck my d**k

At the end of the day, its just club volleyball. Play on a real team if you're passionate enough about it. If you just like it a lot and wanna play still, club is a good option. I've seen both levels first hand, and there is a difference. However, the UF outside could play at just about any level I believe. There are great players scattered across club volleyball for sure. But nothing comes close to having an organized team with refs and stuff.

Fiu only has a few good players the small outside jumps out of the roof and he loves 32s that's it , the other guy sucks middles they are good and the brother or whatever of the short one is nasty as hell right sides the setter is pretty good not nasty he's fat but for a fat guy the dude has hands , the right side they had at the UM tournament was disgusting and Libero was whatever but they always have a different team ! UM is gross with that setter they have they are almost unstoppable and the outside holy nuts guys nasty other then that i don't know , ucf has a good all around team but lack another strong middle Libero is fat but gross and setter is good outside is good too , I saw UF play that's a nasty team , fsu is tall and good middles are great so is outside that's all I know from the teams I've played , does are the main teams that stand out
