it was a really great thing to see cardinal gibbons and their fans come together and support Nick the way they did they played hard and i think that would make him proud.

that gibbons river game was so freaking packed! everyone shoulder to shoulder standing for every point! that was the most exiting atmosphere, and it was the most exciting game to watch cause it was long rallys, good defense and alot of hustle! the best side out/ hitting game was the sw olympia match by far! the olympia columbus game was good but i only got to see the last two sets, and it was columbus going on a block party with olympia barely squeezing off an ugly win. both lake mary games were boring. olympia river was a good one too, good hitting vs good defense, good stuff!

The Gibbons/River match had a classic atmosphere. Packed gym, amped fans, and while there was no single dominating player, both teams had a lot of players on the floor who know how to play...a little more ball control and defense, but neither team a big hitting or blocking team-although the big lefty from Gibbons had some pretty impressive swings...The Columbus/Olmpia match also had its moments, but the two teams took turns playing hot and cold...The semi's on Saturday were okay. Southwest was too physical, and Lake Mary had rotations where they could not side out... (When Robbie went to the back row.) THe Olympia/River match was pretty high error on both sides....but game four was fun. I had to leave before the finals, but I felt that SW blocking and ability to run the middle would probably give them an advantage- also Mauricio is an excellent big game coach...I heard that the lefty from Olympia continued to dominate, but that the middles got shut down by SW...I think in the overall big picture that this was not a year of one dominating team- in fact I think there were quite a few teams who did not make the final eight who could have won some matches there, but I do think it shows more depth and overall improvement of the boys game. Anyhow, congrats to all the boys. One other thing- what a shame that the officiating at the high school level continues to lag so far behind the game. Down refs who watch the ball and not the net.... Top officials with no clue of how the game is being played in the 21st century! We have got to bring these guys up to speed.

Olympia vs Columbus, Olympia taking the first 2, then Columbus coming back with the next to made the atmosphere so energetic that everyone was screaming, and I'm not even from either school

those gibbons kids dont know how to lose respectfully... jeez.... they got robbed my butt, like before the gibbons 8 pt rally or soemthing like that river would have won but the refs totally blew a call where the ball bounced off the shoulder of a gibbons player and went out they said no touch... calls were so bad all weekend, they might as well have not come at all
