the teams from 2008 are not comparable to the 05 teams. 05 teams >>>>> 08. westminister who finished tied for 3rd >>>>> southwest last year. BM who also tied for 3rd >>>>>> olympia.

Just curious, when you say 3,4,5, and 6th option, are you saying that they are comparable to the 2008 teams? i was saying that in 2005 the first and second options, hitters, best players, whatever you wanna call them were better than the ones today. but when you look at the rest of the team, compair the 3rd 4th 5th and 6th best players on the teams, i think that 2008 teams are deeper than 2005 and that the 3rd option now is better than it was then, and so on... for instance, in 2005 gibbons had mark and brett and their opp was decent, but everyone else basically sucked. westminster had tyler and steve, nobody else. bm had one stud and a few other decent players but nothing that stood out. pace had one stud. and so on. the deepest team in 2005 was timber creek i thought. but compair that to this past years teams. southwest, olympia, gibbons, and river (to name a few) were all at least 6 deep. im not saying they would beat the 2005 teams, but i am saying that the 05 teams werent on such a differant level like everyone says. a few of the individual athletes, yes. but volleyball is still being played at a high level

thats weird, there wuz a lot more deepr talent back then. gibbons had lot more then 2 people. their middle, opposite, and setter would have all started on any team this past year. and same with wm, bm, tc.

I think the south will be very strong this year. Compared to the north (who constantly loves to pat themselves on their back and open their mouths) the south will be equally strong this year. You have teams like River and Douglas with almost all players returning and you have Palmetto and Southwest with constant young and great talent. You also have Gibbons, Coopers and Miami Lakes. There is talent here that will give the north problems. We will see

just wondering how are the teams for 2009 looking in the south? any extraordinary players? any sick teams apart from the expected Palmetto and as always SW?

sick teams, not really. but hml has the best player in the state and a bunch of athletes around him so they might be decent. sunset will be good, and a few other teams might surprize. columbus, coral park, braddock, and killian just to name a few that have a chance to come out of nowhere n be good. there are good athletes and good coaches in dade county so im sure youll see more than just sw and palmetto produce good teams. although i do think those two are in a class of their own this year in dade county.
broward and palm beach county i only see spanish river and douglas being in that elite class. i dont think gibbons will be anything special (although will still be a decent team). south broward, mccarthy, and st thomas should still be somewhat competative in that area me thinks. anyone have a better knowledge of this area? maybe rank the broward/palm beach area
