i coached club for a year after attending westminster and killian... and it just so happened that most of my club team happened to be from my arch rival school palmetto... it was awesome to gain the respect and for a great relationship with some kids who grew up hating me!

I think the best coaches are from Saint Thomas Aquinas...Mike Dipierro is one of Florida's best AVP player...he knows the game perfectly and runs a tight practice....and the assistant coach James Decceco is also a retired AVP player...there is no comparison

ur horribly wrong. i say they are easily 2nd best coaching staff. bm has best coaching staff in the state hands down. they have 4 of the best gold coaches and also a great younger coach as in nick who graduated from there last year and is now assistant coaching in gold and doing a good job

What makes a Coach "good" or "bad" from your point of view?

miami has and had some Great coaches. Mauricio Diaz from southwest, Clinton Reid from killian, Jimmy Exely and Rob Langavine from coral park... and by great coach i mean someone who gets you to try out because your an athlete and they teach you the game that they love and you begin to love it as well... these 4 coaches had that quality and just happen to teach the game extremely well... they have had some balling teams!

WOW. Thanks Steve. Makes me feel good about coaching. When i took over Coral Park they were a .500 team. I mean don't get me wrong Hector Martinez did a great job. I just had more time to put into the Program. My overall record at Coral Park is 161-31. 4 time District Champs. one was tie with Southwest(2002). 2 Regional Championships. 2 Final Fours. Dam I miss Rob! LOL. It was fun while it lasted.

The athletic director of the school is the one who makes the choice of who coaches, in most situations. One of the duties they have is to pick a good coaching staff, for some sports they have to take what they can get. Volleyball still isn't that popular a sport in the US, particularly on the boys/mens side. For instance, many coaches didn't even play or coach at the college level, can you imagine a football coach that didn't play or coach football. Im sure that its happened but nowhere near to the regularity of it happening in boys vb.

Coach Ernie Arill is one of the Best Coaches in Dade County History for Boys Volleyball! He was one the First coaches to help get Boys Volleyball started in Miami. Coach Hector Martinez also is another good coach and also helped get Boys Volleyball started in Miami.

Also, football is a much more complex sport to coach. Without an experienced one, your done. In vball, you can be Lake Mary.
