lets hear what you little volleyball wannabees think the best players to ever play in florida are... and if you say anyone this year you're not too smart... cut if off at 03'
There was a lot of guys '03 including probable the whole Miami Southwest team, '04-'05 killian SW and Sunset had some very good players...I herd palmetto was also good back in the day and maybe also coral park.
Mati from sunset Shedrick from killian Ricky from killian Napoles from SW Steve From SW SW won states that year so pretty much their whole team was good.
there is alot more but cant think of them right now....
Danny Mcgowen and Chris bock from UHS, Undefeated 31-0 in 2002. Arturo from timber creek in 2004, too bad he couldnt take the team to state championship title Shedrick Forbes from south florida, plays for warner southern now All the VanZwietens were nasty, Mark is one of the best beach players in the state and has qualified for the AVP multiple times Keawe was also good, awsome beach player aswell My favorite Robert Tarr is probably the best player to come out of florida, he went to Rockledge high and played for Orlando gold back in the day, he played at Long beach for four years and was ranked as one of the best outside hitters in the country, hes playing professional in peurto rico now. Hes something like 6'4'' with a 40 somtin inch vertical (nasty). Also CJ Mecias who played in south florida is one of the best outsides in the country right now, he plays for IPFW. He took his team to the final four Last year in the NCAA.

Well I will date myself and give you some names you have never heard of me thinks
Darrell Dilmore Lake Mary High School circa 1997 went on to play at U of Pacific. Received several honorable mentions etc. IMHO the Lake Mary HS teams he played on were the best to come out of Florida any ear.
Jason Hawkins Lake mary High School circa 1999 Jason played on Penn State national championship team or in an NCAA championship game
George Roumain Played for Douglas HS and eventually starred for Pepperdine & US National Team.
Dexter Rogers Came from Tampa. More of a beach player. Played on USA National Team.
Robert Tarr Played for Orlando Gold but HS did not have vball in Rockledge. Long Beach State All American and US National Team.
Vince Carter Played for Mainland HS. Current NBA star. Unstoppable with his leaping ability in the front row.
Pil Dalhauser Me thinks Flagler Palm Coast. Phil is from the Daytona area and had limited exposure to volleyball until he found the beach Current AVP & USA Beach star.
CJ Macias Let IPFW team to championship match last year. Out of Ft. Lauderale, me thinks St. Thomas Acquinas
Jeff Soler Name sure what high school but somewhere in Palm Beach county. Was on the Lewis Univeristy NCAA championship team.
Kyle Friend To be current. USAV Junior National teams and currently Long Beach State.

I love how i played club with CJ and i guess since i played with him everyday i wasnt impressed with his stuff... then when i watch him play in college, and think that he is one of the most disgusting players i have ever seen...
Shedrick forbes from Miami Killian was Insane, and is currently playing for Warner Southern which is a joke because he had about 6 D1 schools all over him...
Ricky Diaz From Miami Killian was by far the best right side of his era and also went on to play for Warner Southern which was also a joke...
Tyler Stevens was my teammate at Miami Killian in 03' and at Westminster in 05' and he led the state 3 years in a row in kills having over 2000 in his 4 years in highschool. he would be a force in college if it wasnt for his chronic back problems. he is getting some split time out at USC now...
Evan Romero was by far the best player to come out of north dade. 6'7" with a 35+ veritcal and hit harder than anyone i know. he is currently the leading man out at Stanford with some serious consideration for national player of the year.
Mark VanZwieten is probably the most technically sound player ever out of florida aside from his 2 brothers. not too tall, couldnt jump to high but the best player on South Florida during their 3 year reign as a national power.
and this was all on one club team... volleyball needs to pick up again and represent...
