idn about back in the day because i just started last season... but kyle goose and carson from spanish river won states last year.. and were in the top 10 teams in the nation last year... these 3 all play college ball and are amazing... kyle and goose get alot of talk on this website.. but i don't hear as much about carsen... if u don't know carsen he was the setter for river.. ive never seen a cleaner set of hands in my life (kinda sets like the olympia setter) but he deffinetly deserves alot of the credit for the success of river last year...
i would say that those 3 were some of the top players of florida all time

carson was the best setter in the state last season he just couldnt really show it off bc he set 90% of the balls to two hitters....granted they were the nastiest hitters in the state but no one gives him any credit cuz its not that hard to run a 4 ball outside.

I love how i played club with CJ and i guess since i played with him everyday i wasnt impressed with his stuff... then when i watch him play in college, and think that he is one of the most disgusting players i have ever seen... Shedrick forbes from Miami Killian was Insane, and is currently playing for Warner Southern which is a joke because he had about 6 D1 schools all over him... Ricky Diaz From Miami Killian was by far the best right side of his era and also went on to play for Warner Southern which was also a joke... Tyler Stevens was my teammate at Miami Killian in 03' and at Westminster in 05' and he led the state 3 years in a row in kills having over 2000 in his 4 years in highschool. he would be a force in college if it wasnt for his chronic back problems. he is getting some split time out at USC now... Evan Romero was by far the best player to come out of north dade. 6'7" with a 35+ veritcal and hit harder than anyone i know. he is currently the leading man out at Stanford with some serious consideration for national player of the year. Mark VanZwieten is probably the most technically sound player ever out of florida aside from his 2 brothers. not too tall, couldnt jump to high but the best player on South Florida during their 3 year reign as a national power. and this was all on one club team... volleyball needs to pick up again and represent... agreed...except for num 1 didnt mention matias who is def one of the best setters to come out of our area num 2 tyler isnt splitting time...hes eating bench...i think hes played in two sets this whole year num 3 evan is balling out there but hes not material for NPOY yet so saying hes getting HEAVY consideration might be pushing it just a little so yeah just wanted to clear that up

Matias is the biggest waste of talent in my opinion. he has the sickest hands and sickest court sense of anyone i have ever played with. a big shame he didnt go play anwhere. everyone on that south florida team should have played in college. no other club team like it! Tyler has played in about 8 matches and this is after extensive back surgery, plus he walked on a young team while still at about 60%. and evan has been National player of the week 3 or 4 times from what ive read and every big writer jocks him...

Basically all of the south florida club team back in the day:
They had probably the best setter in the state: Matias Rubio
The best to middles in the state: Shedrick Forbes and Evan Romero
The best 3 outside hitters in the state: Tyler Stevens, Mark van zweiten and Steven Norton
And the best rightside to come out of florida in the past several years: Ricky Diaz
HANDS DOWN THE BEST CLUB TEAM SO FAR!
These are the best players to come out of the state in the past 5-8 years or so....hands down....(and of course the whole southwest franchise...lol)

The three best outsides in the state? Wolfe was better than Norton. And Brett Ryan was a better hitter than Norton and Van Zwieten.
Carson as one of the best ever setters is just not cool. Carson was a solid all around player with a good jumpserve and hit pretty fairly, but if you think his setting is amazing, you clearly have not watched a lot of vball.
Remember guys that there was a two time NCAA national player of the year in the lat 90s who came from florida. And a guy that was an all MPSF (the conference all the best cali teams play in for most of you who probably dont know what that is) team member for a couple of his years at UOP (Look up what that school is, people who think you know vball).
There are guys from Florida that are playing professional volleyball, and you want to talk about players like Carson Grissinger...
Mike Iandolo >>>>> Carson
Hell, just from last year: Nick and Joel > Carson
Peter Marin coulda set for Gus and Kyle, and theyd still have won states

not to mention Aleks Ondelj set for Gold at least one year and went on to start for Rutgers back when they were a solid team.
