if you cant read...we were talking about the best setter in the state last year...
no way was joel better than carson...Like i said in my previous post no one gives him any credit bc its not that hard to run a 4 ball to two all americans.
joel had wayyyy more hitters. good ones too...his outsides and right side were sick i dont really remember the middles. rivers middles werent great and neither was there right side. they were solid, but joel definitely had more guys he could go to...dont get me wrong joel is a sick setter but not better than carson man...i agree with you on the fact that anyone can run a 4 ball, but like i said when thats all you need to do why do anything else lol...
and where is joel now???
king college?? a first year club team??
and wheres carson?? oh wait...thats right...lindenwood...a volleyball powerhouse...
i dunno who nick is so i cant argue about him, but i never said carson was the best setter of all time...just last year. Iandolo and Mati are most def better than carson.

I played against mike and he was disgusting, his hands were soooo soft and he put up butter... matias is flashy and goes for the crazy set that most people wont try... neither was better than the other, SoFla played Gold about 15 freaking times and it was always even. i cant give the edge to either... just depends on what you think is better... predictability or too flashy... to me neither was ever bad!

go ahead and say whatever you want about me, i dont care if you think brett was better than me... but better than mark??? i dont think so, mark was the best player in the state by far. 6'1" and and 18 inch vertical but couldnt be stopped by anyone. and im not talking about here in florida, all over the country, 6'6" rightsides would come from blocking clenching their hand after being tooled by mark. not to mention he had the best serve i have ever seen in real life aside from clay stanley from the USA team... and i have seen a lot of serves in my time...

Matias is the biggest waste of talent in my opinion. he has the sickest hands and sickest court sense of anyone i have ever played with. a big shame he didnt go play anwhere. everyone on that south florida team should have played in college. no other club team like it! Tyler has played in about 8 matches and this is after extensive back surgery, plus he walked on a young team while still at about 60%. and evan has been National player of the week 3 or 4 times from what ive read and every big writer jocks him... where are you "reading" this ?? evan has been NPOW once. and was conference co-POW the same week. www.avca.org/collegiate/MenDIpow/MensPOWindex.asptheres the link to NPOW, check it for yourself Matias not playing anywhere wasnt because he didnt want to. college volleyball and college in general isnt an option for some people no matter how much they want to go.

If mark was 6'6 or jumped like shed or rick or norton he would be dominating college ball, all american prolly or dominating even more than he already does at beach, hes the most technically sound player ive seen. his discipline in his passing on the court and the sand is ridiculous...brett wasnt a better hitter just more athletic...he was just as effective as mark though.

Mark could have played college ball and would have been a good d-1 libero. He had a better serve and serve receive than Brett, but to agree with the other guest, Brett was a better hitter.

It's all good and none taken. However, guys, although Carson, Joel, and I are very intresting subjects to talk about ... in my opinion, none of us fit the description of the main purpose of this thread which is "Best Players from FL". Mike Iandolo in my opinion is one of, if not the best setter to come from FL. I played against this Matias kid when he was on SoFla but I do not remember much of him because I was too busy trying not to get hit in the face by Tyler, Evan, or Shedrick. I will take your word for it though that he was that good. So those two would be my choices for setter.

I was the setter for Bishop Moore from when Mike Iandolo was our outside my sophomore year to last year. Now I play for UCF's club team. We have played you guys (FIU) a couple times. You played for Wesminister right?
