Lindenwood is in St Charles, MO a city outside of St. Louis and it is an NAIA school.
For those of you that think that you will not get good competition going to an NAIA school, I beg to differ. As a former NAIA Men's Volleyball Coach, my team played IPFW, Ball State and went to a tournament at Michigan State that had teams from Canada as well as Penn State and Ohio State.
One year we beat IPFW and Arnie was not happy about it.
You all need to realize what a disadvantage that you have by being a male volleyball player and stop the hating and be gald someone from Florida got some kind of money to play vball.
#1 there are only about 22 programs in the USA that have Men's volleyball Women have between 300-400 schools to choose from.
#2 Men's volleyball can only give 4 full ride athletic scholarships, most of your money is coming from academics Women have 8 full rides
#3 Every year at least one university uses title 9 to get rid of a non-money making male athletic program like Men's Volleyball. Mercyherst just dropped their program Title 9 was inacted to provide equal athletics to women
#4 you live in a state that has no Men's College varsity volleyball - the chances to get looked at and be noticed is minimal, unless you are attending all D 1 2 3 and NAIA camps that are available. Going to nationals helps, but you got to think about how many other players are there and coaches walk around and maybe see you play for 30 seconds and you better hope you didn't make a mistake or get talking smack during that time.
I hope everyone of you get the opportunity to play volleyball in college, it is a wonderful experience.

Florida does have a college varsity volleyball team at warner southern. 2. almost every D1 womens team has 12 full rides to give.

um is right. and also there are 23 division 1 programs 17 division 2 41 division 3 22 NAIA
total 103 men's volleyball programs
there are actually 1,534 women's volleyball programs and fully funded division 1 schools get 12 and fully funded division 2 and NAIA get 8 scholarships

I heard the chances of being looked at for college is practically "0" if you only play high school. The chances are MUCH better if you play club and go to Regionals and JOs. Is this right?
