Mojo 17's/Lyman High School going to States this Friday!!! Go Get 'em boys!!! Woo Hoo!
This is from the longwood volleyball club face book page. Shows the team is a club team same players, same coach, same playing site and high school team.
They should be good, But should they be allowed a HS state title?

This is not the first time. All the Miami teams do it southwest (voleimiami) Columbus ( matadors ) and sunset have a club team too.
Comsiderd to what bishop Moore and archbishop have done in the past years, it's not a big deal. There is no rule that says you can't have more than a certain number of players in a high chocolate team that play for club together.
More over , russel didn't recruit anybody. He made those players and they all went to that school since freshmen year and worked together. If they win that title it's because they deserve it unlike ( you know who) that recruits.

well said to whoever posted the post before me right above this, yea mojo 17/lyman school team might be doing pretty good because they do play year around, but like the person above me said, those kids have been there since their freshman year LEGALLY. They didnt transfer their junior year from a totally different county, or different city 100 miles away.
Props to teams like southwest, columbus, lyman, and sunset who have real coaches that actually coach and make their kids better by having them play together year around and get better together and go into high school and be at another level then the rest of the state... of course these smaller clubs have their up and down years depending on their high school kids, but props to longwood 17s for obviously making the person above the other post so upset they felt to actually put a facebook fan page post up on here....instead of crying, you should go recruit more players.... as the person above me said, archbisop did it with TJ last year, BM has done it and dont get us started how they actually dont have a real school zone like public schools have.....sucks how vball is in florida.....with real talent at schools like lake mary but no coaches, good coaches at schools where the coach gets a bunch of kids and somehow they mold them and have competitive teams year after year, then you have mediocre coaches that recruit and have kids transfer and win states and believe they actually did anything....
i know in other states where, especially the one i came from, private schools have their own championship than public schools.... where im from... it got so bad that year after year it was the same private schools that were winning cause they were allowed to recruit and scholarship kids to come unlike public schools....parents sued complained and the whole 9 yards and force them to change the rules to where private and public could play each other, but each had their own state championship. Private schools that have no school zone, can recruit and are allowed to do this by their athletic governing body (florida being the fhsaa), are just on another playing field, no business playing public school teams, regardless if they have their high school team also playing year around like sunset, columbus, longwood, or southwest. i beleive like in my home state... public and private schools should have their own state championship
sorry for this really long post....really needed my opinion to come out

What's really funny is that everyone in central Florida wants Lyman to lose to anyone at states. The best will be when they lose to bishop Moore and we get to see stash crying like his brother did when he lost.

Excuse me, but just because you are jealous that Lyman is one of the best teams in the state doesn't mean you can call out specific players, we have no idea who is going to play in the finals, Lyman and bishop Moore both have tough routes to the finals and they could both lose, but they are the favorites to get there. As for no one liking Lyman I know plenty of people that are routing for Lyman, like me, I'm now their biggest fan. And for you information I did not cry after the loss. And even if I did I would be proud of it, because that shows the love and passion that I have for the game. To laugh at someone who loves the game is terrible, for tons of kids this year will be playing their last point of volleyball ever and we should respect that, no one knows how it feels to play their last point until it is the end. I just hope that "jealous" is man enough to come out who he really is and talk about his team and not bash others, especially in the last match of the season. It's called being respectful and he obviously doesn't have any.

To jealous.... If Cas didn't or did cry, if stash does or doesn't cry... To any player that does cry their last game, as Cas said, that's passion for the game. Obviously you have no respect for people that work hard to have what they have, in our case talent at a high school. Since obviously you know that Cas "cried" when bishop Moore beat them, tells me you were somewhere in the gym and you for sure weren't rooting on lakes Mary by calling him out like that.... To whoever win states, I am sure majority of central and the state of florida doesn't want you to win. Cause unlike you, other teams play by the rules and work with what they got at their school. It's easy to win when you can call up your buddy and ask him to play for 2 years and win with him. Without malias, bm is nothing. Just an average team. Malias is an excellent player that would win states on any team he would of gone to... Same thing last year with the other Christian... Those players would of won anywhere they would of played at.... Sucks they decided to go to bm for whatever reason.... If I remember, both of those star players didn't even play club for their super power club OG later in their club career... They both went to Tampa... I wonder why?? Regardless and doesn't really matter at this point.... If bm does win, congrats on another good recruiting year and good job to everyone else in the state for being ethical on playing with what you have and good job to the real coaches out there actually coaching and making something out of their team and teaching your kids how to work hard for something you really want and having respect for the game of volleyball and respect for others and not calling specific players out.... Totally uncalled for "jealous"......
To Cas, you are an excellent player... Got to see you play a couple times in club and your also up there with those names mention above, sucks your school doesn't have real coaches. You guys had a good season. All we can do now like the rest of us is hopefully watch two REAL teams go at it in the finals... Not wannabes who get handed everything in life

I'm predicting BM doesn't drop a single set this weekend, and they beat Lyman in the finals.

It really doesn't matter if privates play publics in the playoffs. Its 6-3 for public schools. Gibbons had amazing players when they won in that all lived very close to the school. Bishop Moore is much more shady. I'm still not sure why the FHSAA didn't make Malias sit out last year. Snodgrass was the director for OG and Malias transfers to there. It probably wouldn't have changed much for last years outcome because Franchesci was very good. Anyway should be some great matches today and I'm excited to watch them all.

You may be right bm might win without dropping a set, but winning another state championship, won't mean anything. Just means another Christian won it for you. In your eyes it might feel like you did something. It's funny that the rest of the state will know the real truth. If u do win, media will make a big deal about you guys winning again and that will be your comfort , but us realist in florida volleyball will know the truth. Bm have a very good chance on winning it again, but won't mean anything, so if you do win, don't think you did it by work hard, malias worked hard, if you win will only be because of him
In the books you will be state champs, but always with an * next to your name. Private competiting in public. There is no competition, private should always win

No one will believe this, but malias wasnt recruited. he came from a private school that didnt have mens volleyball. if you were transferring private schools and you were going to central florida, where would you go? Malias has a passion for the game that we can all see, if i was transferring to a private school I know I would go to BM. Tom almost didnt let christian play his first year because he didnt like malias' attitude in some regards. The family was moving closer to the practice facility for orlando gold, and sent their kid to the closest private school with the best reputation. Every other kid in the bishop moore program has been there since day one and filtered in from the private schools surrounding BM. Don't belittle all of their achievements and years of work because one family had the passion to move closer to volleyball

I agree with the previous posts supporting Cas and Christian. Let's not squash the enthusiasm and excitement for the game. We could argue and discuss if FHSAA should have allowed Christian to play LAST year, but that's done and he certainly does qualify and should be eligible to play this year.
Who else out there passionate about v-ball wouldn't want to move to a school that plays v-ball. Let's ask to boys playing club from St. Augustine and Brevard county or other areas where public or private schools don't offer the sport. Would they like to be at a school that plays HS???
