and 3s. and many people i kno saw your games and said angel did almost everything. that a match to 3 sets het got over 25 kills. i mean come on he is amazing and everyone knows he did it all. i mean the other outside got all tournament team and yes he is consistant but there are alot of outsides way better then him, even though gold 17s did very poorly both of their outsides are better then that kid

Will you stop talking up orlando gold? No disrespect to the guys on that team (17-1s) but we beat them in the important tournament to be florida regional champion, and we did a lot better than them at JO's. Also, if club is so easy as all you "experts" claim it to be, why did Orlando Gold end up in flight 1? The Canada and Puerto Rico team we beat was not a 2 or 3 team, and neither was the rest of the Cali teams that were not Balboa or Riptides.
Its incredible that people on this forum are hating on a florida team that got third in club (only one florida team has ever done better), whereas no one has said anything about all of Orlando Gold being in club. If the gold outsides were better than junior, then they wouldnt have ended up placing 25th.

im one of the middles for gold 17 1's and i wanna say that you guys should just not listen to them. there were some sick teams in club that were 1's teams because they couldnt qualify for open. so winning 3rd in club is still really good. when it came down to it the florida sons team stepped it up and we gave up. congrats on getting 3rd place because i know that even that is hard to get. you guys played sick and deserve it. everyone should be saying congrats and not putting down how well they did

i wasnt putting the sons down and wasnt talking up orlando gold. you guys should know that marshal and caleb are better then junior. but you guys do deserve it. im sure you guys played with alot of heart. but to be honest most cali teams in club are not 1s team, im sorry. and there has been florida teams to do better then that. any florida team to be in open is automatically better then 3rd in club. and gold has sent many teams to open before. for example 2 years ago every gold 1s team was in open. awhile ago there was a gold team to finish top 20 in open.

More than 1 team has done better than 3rd in club.... Florida Sons finished in Silver last year in open and my 15s team finished 11th in open.... Florida Sons 18s would have run club last year. Playing in open, you are always playing against the top teams and you can never slack off because every team you play obviously deserves to be there.

But what I don't get is why doesn't Florida Sons combine their 17s teams? Their 1's team would be a combination of the best players from the two teams and be much better than either of the teams individually.

When I said only one florida team has done better, I meant done better in club. I know there have been teams from the Sons and Gold that have very well in Open.

Because the chemistry is not there!! To be a good team besides having good players you need the players to play together as a team which requires a lot of team work and chemistry.

everybody needs to stop putting down the sons 17 they were the third best team in club division. they are a sick team with sick players. angel is the best outside hitter in the state hands down. if you dont agree with me then just ask the division 1 scouts who all want a piece of him. angel did not do it all for that team. junior was putting just as many balls away as angel, chris and jorge played their a$$es off against bigger middles. the defense and serve recieve was extremely tight. youre telling me that angel did all of that.

Thanks for telling me that chemistry is needed to have a good team, and not just talent........Anyways, have they even tried it? How do they know that the chemistry won't be there? Maybe if they tried it out and realized the talent they had together, the chemistry would be no problem.

Nicely said Jake, that is the plain old truth!! I guess who ever nick is- well he obviously was not there and he is jealous since his team did not make it. But is pretty sad that a player has to put another team down to make himself look better I guess once he coaches a team he will realize what he is talking about. As a coach, credit has to be given to a team when they deserve it. And Florida Sons L for sure deserve that credit, all of the players!!! They are 3rd in the nation for under the club division and that is down in the records. Maybe next year when they play open this "nick" person will see the talent of the team ;D

uhhh, with all due respect, coach, this nick person you are talking about was not criticizing the Sons at all, merely asking a simple question and suggesting the possibility of making your teams even better... and obviously you are very unfamiliar with him, acting as if he is an inexperienced volleyball novice. He has, in fact, had coaching experience this past year, and he does know a little something about volleyball, playing with the 3rd best club team in COLLEGE, UCF. Please don't talk down to someone who you do not know, especially when they were not even saying anything derogatory.

THats kind of funny, since he started talking down the sons 17's team about making a big deal of them winning 3rd under "Club". So the same advice should go to him about not taking bad about a team he has no idea about. This team work their butts for it and it is very inappropriate/unsportmenship for a person to put them down after their success. Let them celebrate their accomplishment.
And in terms of advice for combining teams, yeah we have consider that but it requires a lot of chemistry for a team to succeed. ANd that was all it was meant by it. People are taking statements and blowing them out of proportion. Reminder people these are 17 year old players!!PLease dont bust their hard work, they realize it was club. And at that level it requires more than one player to win a tournament. It is a team sport
