I have been around Boys High School Volleyball since 1993 and I have seen the level go up and down in Miami. Sunset and Gables were the powerhouses back then. Southwest and Southridge came around even Palmetto was up there. I graduated from Homestead(2-9) and we started our team My Senior Year(93-94). One day in my senior year i called the FHSAA and asked what would it take to get a boys state championship? They said, " 20% of the schools needed to have a boys program." It took a lot of hard work and effort to get States to become a reality! If you have a chance to play for the State Championship take advantage of it!!
